WhatsApp is now rolling out group video and voice chats for up to eight people across both iOS and Android.

WhatsApp expanded group calling to eight people in its beta on April 21, after previously announcing support for up to four people.

Now, group video and voice calling for you and seven friends has been released to the general public on both iOS and Android. According to the app’s iOS release notes for version 2.20.50:

Xiaomi is going to start rolling out MIUI 12 from June. Here’s when your phone will receive the update.

MIUI 12 is now official, with Xiaomi’s latest skin offering an array of new features. Some of those features include an improved system-wide dark mode, AI-assisted calling features, Dynamic Always-on Display, new visual design, tweaks to system animations, and much-needed privacy fixes.

The stable build of MIUI 12 will begin rolling out from next month in China, with the global models picking up the update later in the year. Here’s when your Xiaomi, Redmi, or POCO phone will receive the MIUI 12 update.

Vivo has surpassed Samsung as the second largest smartphone brand in India

Xiaomi continued to lead the Indian smartphone market with 30.6% share in Q1 2020.

BBK-owned smartphone maker Vivo overtook Samsung to emerge as the second largest smartphone vendor in India in Q1 2020.
Vivo shipped 6.7 million smartphones in India during the first quarter, while Samsung shipped 6.3 million units.
Xiaomi remained the top smartphone vendor in the country, shipping 10.3 million units in Q1 2020.

In the fourth quarter of 2017, Xiaomi passed Samsung to become the top smartphone vendor in India. Since then, Samsung has been the second largest smartphone vendor in the country. As per the latest data from Canalys, however, Vivo overtook Samsung in the Indian market to take the second position in the first quarter of 2020.
