Dinosaurs recently took over the Emerald Downs Racetrack in Washington for a (pre)historic dash to the finish line — and video of the hilarious race has gone viral online.
The video, which currently has more than 20 million views, showed more than 30 competitors dressed in T-Rex costumes taking to the horse track Saturday in Auburn.
“The T-Rexes stand at the ready — and T-Rexes away!” track announcer Tom Harris yelled, right before the dinosaurs sprinted toward the finish line.
The T-Rex named “Regular Unleaded” took the victory, holding off “Rex Girlfriend” by a tail, NPR reported.
There’s no wreath — or any prize — for the winner. The winning T-Rex will have bragging rights. of course (and maybe viral fame?).
Emerald Downs President Phil Ziegler told USA TODAY he loved seeing that the video has “made so many people happy.”
The T-Rex race started at Emerald Downs three years ago, and featured employees of the Tri-Guard Pest Control.
Ziegler said the event originally was just for the pest control company, but he has already received dozens of inquiries about how to enter the competition, thanks to the video going viral.

Viewers on Facebook, where the video was posted, were quick to add their appreciation for the hilarious race.
“Wow, that is the best thing I’ve seen all day,” said one user.
Others acknowledged the difficulty of racing in a dinosaur costume: “As an owner of one of the fantastic suits, let me say that this is 1st hilarious and 2nd quite difficult,” said one commenter.
Of course, others wanted to see more chaos at the racetrack. “I’m so disappointed, I literally only watched this to see how many would fall,” said one viewer.
