I didn’t see Toy Story 4 because I’m an adult with no kids and thought the story wrapped up well enough in part 3. But I do know the movie focused on Woody more than ever as he grappled with his own personal obsolescence. However, if this mod for Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is any proof, apparently Woody’s journey had him dying and coming back to life after brutal sword battles in medieval Japan. If that’s the case, maybe I should see this movie.
As we’ve shared with you a few times already, on PC there’s a vibrant community of pranksters who get off on making funny character skins inserting famous faces into games where they definitely don’t belong. You want to play as Kylo Ren in Devil May Cry 5? How about Keanu Reeves in Metal Gear Solid V? Make Mr. X wear a thong in Resident Evil 2. And even Sekiro already got a Shrek mod for its ogres.
This Woody meme mod is just the next one the internet got a kick out of. And yeah seeing Woody’s lanky stuffed toy body act out of the graceful yet violent blade ballet of Sekiro is a sight to behold. It definitely makes more sense than the Toy Story parts of Kingdom Hearts 3. But seeing as I think the overly punishing Sekiro is about as bad as its Dark Souls predecessors, I’ll enjoy watching this more than playing it.
