Between experimenting on users, mishandling consumer data, and testifying before Congress, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg somehow found the time to build a “sleep box.”
The device, which emits a faint light signifying when it’s OK to wake up, was devised to improve wife Priscilla’s troubled slumber.
Now, it is available to pre-order for $29.
In April, Zuckerberg introduced the bedside beacon, calling on global entrepreneurs to “run with this and build sleep boxes for more people.”
Premiere Electronics LLC accepted the challenge, developing Zucklight—a sleep box designed to help users snooze through the night without distractions.
Like the original prototype, Zucklight illuminates at a specific time, letting you know whether to go back to sleep or get up.
So if you wake up and see a dark box, simply close your eyes and return to dreamland; no need to look at your phone for the time. Then, when you check again later, the soft glow nudges you to start your morning ritual.
A companion mobile app makes it easy to adjust the light color and brightness, and set a preferred time schedule.

Zucklight hit Kickstarter last month, and with 12 days to go, the campaign has far surpassed its $5,000 goal, collecting more than $221,400 from 3,469 backers.
Early-bird buyers can still snag a heavily discounted sleep box—expected to ship anywhere in the world starting this November—available in three versions.
The basic model starts at $29; add wireless charging (so you and your devices can wake up refreshed) for $39, and built-in temperature, humidity, and CO2 sensors for $49.
The top-notch Zucklight Prime, meanwhile, comes with all that, plus a sound system, two extra charging coils, and a $79 price tag.
Customers can choose from three colors—light brown, dark brown, or white—to suit your space.
