As long as America continues to be held hostage by the evil gun lobby and its craven conservative enablers in Congress, nothing will be done to stop these tragic and frustratingly preventable mass shootings like we just saw in El Paso and Dayton this past weekend. If you’re looking for ways to help, CBS News as some good charity options. Also, please consider voting.
But if we must live in Hell the very least we can expect are some dank vaguely related memes. Considering I was offline most of this weekend, imagine how utterly confused I was to see literally everyone talking about shooting 30-50 feral hogs in 3-5 minutes to protect their kids on the yard. If you still aren’t up to date, here’s the “context.”
Legit question for rural Americans – How do I kill the 30-50 feral hogs that run into my yard within 3-5 mins while my small kids play?

Even if you didn’t catch this original tweet the “30-50 feral hogs” memes absolutely exploded on Twitter with a speed and intensity the likes of which I haven’t seen in a long time. People really did need a release after suffering through such torment. And the meme is now leaking into other parts of the internet, like free browser games.
Developed by Bookska on itch.io, this 30-50 feral hogs game has you doing just what the tweet says: shooting those wild pigs to save you kids. The keyboard controls are a little wonky and the time/kill requirements are beyond unreasonable. But maybe that just proves the point that no one actually needs these out of control assault weapons.
The game was submitted under a tag suggesting it was part of an entire game jam of games based on the meme. But this is the only entry so far. Other folks have just been posting screenshots of swell swine slaughter in games like Far Cry and Minecraft.

It’s ridiculous that this is what we’re talking about, instead of doing something to solve the very real gun problem. However, despite what disingenuous politicians may say, video games are not the problem, even video games about shooting 30-50 feral hogs. The problem is obviously guns. Games don’t even need defending. But for more, read why video games are not a factor in mass shootings on our sister site PCMag.com.
