Barbie wants to go to a galaxy far, far away, too.
Mattel and Disney have joined forces to pay homage to Star Wars: A New Hope with Barbie dolls (very fashionably) dressed as Darth Vader, R2-D2, and of course, Princess Leia. And they’re now available for pre-order on Amazon.
Sure, the designs are not exactly accurate representations of the beloved Star Wars characters but more cosplay-like reinterpretation, but this is Barbie, so it has to be high-fashion.

The Princess Leia Barbie, for example, is inspired by the character’s look in A New Hope, but Barbie steps it up with strappy high heels, a sleek rebel-alliance purse, and a lower braid-bun combo.

Meanwhile, Darth Vader Barbie is channeling “Vogue villain,” with a long cape and mysterious sunglasses, topped with a shiny bob haircut.

R2-D2 Barbie no less stylish — with a high, blue ponytail, modern skirt-top ensemble, and an amazing gold purse (inspired by C-3PO?). She looks straight out of a Lady Gaga music video.
