Ikea and Sonos have partnered to prove that accessible quality home furniture can also be affordable quality room speakers. The results is the Symfonisk line of products, goods you would expect from Ikea but with a speaker packed in for good measure. We already told you about the WiFi bookshelf speakers, but this new Symfonisk product is a WiFi table lamp speaker that delights your eyes along with your ears.

Music and visuals are a powerful combination when linked. Whole subcultures exist because of pairing pulsing rhythms with strobing lights. The Ikea Sonos Symfonisk Table Lamp With WiFi may not be built for your next rave, but it does give you some of the benefits of blending your senses.
As you would expect for Sonos, the speaker part of this speaker lamp is pretty impressive. The bass isn’t that deep but this product isn’t built for anything that intense. Otherwise sound quality doesn’t disappoint with balanced audio at all levels and volumes. As a smart speaker you can also control it through a mobile app and sync it with other speakers in your Sonos ecosystem. You’ll just need a separate assistant app like Alexa for voice controls as there is no built-in mic.
That said, the lamp part of this speaker lamp is the most old-fashioned part. It’s not going to flash different colors in beat with the music or anything out of the box. That wouldn’t fit with the soft modest aesthetic. And the comforting glow but relatively low brightness makes it more of an accent lamp than a centerpiece. Plus it uses the niche small E14 bulb instead of something more common. But the results are pretty relaxing.
