Tons of surprising big third-party games have found their way to the Nintendo Switch. You can play Doom: Eternal and The Witcher 3 on a Nintendo handheld. That owns! Even Blizzard has shown some support after years of absence with the excellent Diablo 3 port. However, that’s not the only game from the Activision-shackled publisher people want on the console/handheld hybrid.
As one of the most popular and horniest games of the modern era, Overwatch seems like a no-brainer for Nintendo Switch. Its colorful art style never looked too technically taxing and its alternative combat mechanics for a team shooter would pair nicely with Splatoon. Plus it’s one of the biggest eSports cash cows so why not make the potential audience as big as possible Fortnite-style?
Well now it seems Overwatch is coming to Switch. Sort of. On Amazon there’s a listing for an upcoming Overwatch-themed Nintendo Switch Protection Case from PowerA. On its own that’s not too newsworthy. There are tons of Nintendo Switch cases out there branded with specific games. But in this case it is weird to sell an officially licensed product based on a game that’s not even on the system the case houses.

So either this is some weird joke, you whip out a Switch from this case and you’re just playing Paladins or something. Or this is a tease/leak that Overwatch is coming soon to the system. The team has talked about it in the past, calling the port “feasible.” And the case is slated to release later in September around the time a Nintendo Direct news blast would probably hit. Maybe Overwatch for Switch shadow drops the same day as the Nintendo Switch Lite so you can main Hanzo on the go. It’s not like there’s anything else coming to Switch in September.
