The latest content update for Fortnite – the 8.51 patch – is available today, and while it isn’t one of the bigger patches that we’ve seen, it still brings with it a brand new item for players to use, as well as some new fixes that will ensure the game is a bit smoother for all those playing.

Aptly named the Shadow Bomb, the latest item to hit Fortnite is a smoke grenade that allows players to engulf themselves in darkness, essentially becoming invisible once they use the grande. The Shadow Bomb also gives players a speed boost and the ability to perform double jumps, so use it wisely and you might be able to sneak around an enemy to get the jump on them.

Outside of the Shadow Bomb, there isn’t too many changes that have been implemented this week, with the limited-time Endgame mode still around and a variety of other fixes waiting in the wings.

With Avengers: Endgame set to premiere in just a couple of days, the world of Fortnite is once again getting in on the promotion. Earlier today, developer Epic teased another crossover event between the two iconic brands.

Not much other information has been revealed about the crossover, but a teaser image of a character from Fortnite holding Captain America’s shield has been released, along with the tagline “whatever it takes,” which is also the tagline for the upcoming film. The date of the proposed crossover, April 25, 2019, is also when the movie premieres across the country.

This won’t be the first time that Fortnite has dipped its toes into the waters of movie crossovers. The Fortnite item shop has updated once again, and players can now hop in and pick up some new gear, including brand new cosmetics, gliders, and other items to purchase.

Today’s update is all about golf, as the Birdie skin and Driver harvesting tools are now available. Alongside those topical items, the Mezmer skin, Axetec harvesting tool, and Sunrise glider have all been thrown into the game as well.

Alongside the bevy of skins and pickaxes, players can also pick up some cheaper items to add to their arsenal. Today, the Magma item spray returns, giving players a second chance to pick up this animated spray. Alongside that, the Mullet Marauder and Whiplash skins and the Coaxial Copter glider have also been included, amongst other things.

The Fortnite item shop has updated once again, and players can now hop in and pick up some new gear, including brand new cosmetics, gliders, and other items for players to purchase.

To celebrate the beginning of a new baseball season, it looks like Epic Games has decided to keep the baseball-themed skins, pickaxe, and glider that it released yesterday.

Along with the baseball player skins, the fan-favorite Fate cosmetic has been dropped into the game again, along with her Fated Frame pickaxe and Split Wing glider. There’s also a new, animated spray — Magma — that is out for sale. The spray operates like a normal one but gives weapons and vehicles an animated effect of magma flowing. Simply equip it to your desired item and then head out with a spiffy new design adorned on your gun. Alongside this, the Pop Lock and Magic Wings have been brought back, amongst some other items.
