The stable Android 10-based One UI 2.0 beta for the Galaxy Note 9 has started rolling out.
Currently, the update is being rolled out only to beta users in India.
It is likely that the stable Android 10 update will be released for users running Android Pie within the next few days.

Just a month after opening the One UI 2.0 beta program for the Galaxy Note 9, Samsung has now started pushing the stable Android 10 update for the smartphone. As reported by the folks over at SamMobile, the update is currently rolling out to beta users in India.

The update arrives as version N960FXXU4DSLB and weighs in at 100MB in terms of size. Weirdly, however, the update includes the December 2019 security patch instead of the January 2020 security patch that Samsung rolled out to a few Galaxy devices recently.

Spotify plans to reintroduce political ads to its platform once it has the tech to vet them.

Spotify says it will “pause” political advertising on its platform in early 2020.
The company will reintroduce political ads to its platform once it has all the resources necessary to “responsibly validate and review” them.
Twitter banned political advertising on its platform last month, while Google’s new policy on political ads will come into effect on January 6.

After Twitter, Spotify has now announced its plans of banning political advertising on its platform. Unlike Twitter, however, Spotify will only “pause” political advertising early next year, across its ad-supported tier.

The move will only apply to the U.S., since the company does not run political ads in any other country. Spotify says it had to take the decision as it currently lacks the systems and tools require to review political ads.

As long as your phone runs Android 9 or Android 10, you can now install Google’s latest Recorder app on it.

What you need to know

You can now download a modified version of the latest Google Recorder app.
While the app is officially compatible with only Google Pixel phones, the modified version works on most phones running Android 9 Pie or Android 10.
Xiaomi smartphones running MIUI 10 or MIUI 11, unfortunately, aren’t supported yet.

Earlier this month, Google made its powerful Recorder app compatible with older Pixel smartphones. Unfortunately, though, the app still remains incompatible with the original Pixel and Pixel XL. It is also not compatible with smartphones from other Android OEMs. Fortunately, the folks over at XDA Developers have come up with a modified version of the app, which is not only compatible with the first-generation Pixels but phones from other manufacturers as well.

Facebook says existing Messenger users will not be affected.

Facebook will no longer allow new users to sign up for Messenger without a Facebook account.
The company says users who already use Messenger without a Facebook account can continue using it without having to do anything.
Facebook had introduced the ability to sign up for Messenger without a Facebook account in 2015.

Facebook is removing the ability to sign up for Messenger without a Facebook account. This means all new users who sign up for Messenger will have to use their Facebook account, instead of a phone number.

Is OnePlus planning to enter the foldable phone market?

While the company has not revealed any details regarding the phone’s design or tech specs, a new report out of South Korea now claims the OnePlus Concept One will be a foldable phone.

Citing industry sources, the report from Korea Herald says the Concept One could be another foldable smartphone, similar to Samsung’s Galaxy Fold, Motorola’s new RAZR, and Huawei’s Mate X. However, no other details about the concept phone have been revealed so far.

The Snapdragon 865 variant of the Galaxy S11 could be more widely available than the Exynos 990 variant.

A new report out of South Korea claims the Snapdragon 865-powered Galaxy S11 will not be exclusive to the U.S., Japan, and China.
Unlike the company’s 2019 flagships, the Snapdragon 865-powered Galaxy S11 will apparently be sold in a large number of countries.
The Exynos 990-powered Galaxy S11 variants will be limited to Europe.

Samsung has been selling both Exynos- and Snapdragon-powered variants of its flagship smartphones since 2011. In most markets, however, the company only sells the Exynos-powered variants of its flagship phones. Now, a report from Korean publication The Elec claims Samsung is planning to sell the Snapdragon 865 variant of the Galaxy S11 in more markets than the Exynos 990 variant.
