Aira is setting the new standard for wireless charging with FreePower
Nomad’s Base Station Pro is the first consumer release with the new technology coming later this year.
Remember how excited we were about Apple’s AirPower charging pad, which promised to make wireless charging more convenient and flexible? Our dreams for this multi-coil system with the Apple brand may have been dashed, but the dream of a drop-anywhere-to-charge pad is alive and well and living in Las Vegas.
Well, not really. It’s actually Arizona.
The standard needs to change
Free charging or positional freedom is most likely going to be the next evolution of wireless charging. Companies are starting to recognize that there is a need for wireless charging that doesn’t require us to “find the sweet spot” when we set our phones down to charge. There are researchers already trying to set the new standard. Aira is one of those companies that seems to have succeeded at producing a truly free charging system and Nomad is its first consumer client.

Focals by North expands to the West Coast
It’s getting (slightly) easier to get your custom smart glasses from North with two new West Coast locations.
If you’ve been eying those new Focals smart glasses, but live way too far from any North Showroom, you may be in luck. Two new pop-up locations are making there way to across the country to the best coast … I mean, the West Coast starting February 19.
For the select few, this means you’ll finally be able to demo how Focals work, and if you like them, you can get a custom fitting for your very own pair.
If you’re in the area, be sure to make reservations ahead of time as Focals are proving to be a big hit and you may not be able to just stroll up to the temporary Showroom.
The Focals pop-up Showroom will be in Seattle, WA from February 19 – 22. It’s also headed to San Francisco, CA soon after (no official date yet).
For those that have been waiting for Focals to be available with prescription lenses, you’re in luck. Prescription lenses rolled out recently and are availa… 閱讀全文
Don’t lose your UltraViolet movies — transfer them to Movies Anywhere!
Transfer your UltraViolet movies to Vudu before it shuts down so you can access them on Movies Anywhere.
Movies Anywhere is Disney’s attempt to merge all of those digital movie services where you purchase content into one place. You don’t have to watch all of your movies in Movies Anywhere. Instead, the service brings the movies to you. If you’ve bought digital movies on iTunes, Amazon, Vudu, Xfinity, Microsoft, FandangoNOW, or Google Play, you can now watch all of them on whichever your preferred service is.
If you recently received an email from UltraViolet that the company is closing and you’ll have to link your movies to another account by July 31, 2019, you might be wondering whether you can get these movies into your Movies Anywhere account. You can add your UltraViolet movies to Movies Anywhere, but you need a Vudu account to do so (I know, you have to sign up for one more account).
Note: Not all movies are supported by Movies anywhere, so it’s a good idea to have your Ultr… 閱讀全文
