First and foremost, Valheim is a survival simulator. Players find themselves in a hostile world full of harsh environments and must do whatever they can to survive. This of course includes gathering resources, building shelter, cooking food, building the Eiffel Tower, hunting monsters, and more. Like most sandbox survival games, this one has a debug mode that acts similarly to creative mode and supports mods. With these two things combined, players like Redditor huggedahl can create some pretty amazing creations. Check out their impressive recreation of the Eiffel Tower itself within the world of Valheim.
For those that aren’t aware, normally Valheim makes players take physics and gravity into account when building. Everything must be supported by something or else the structure will collapse, and players also have to be careful to not put too much strain on any one support. Because of these rules, the buildings players create in Valheim tend to be more practical. Using mods, players can do away with those restrictions, letting them unleash their full creative potential instead.
From far away, huggedahl’s Eiffel Tower build looks absolutely astonishing. Before players get close, it’s practically impossible to tell it apart from the real thing. The amazing level of detail and hard work that went into making this is clear to see from here, but only becomes more apparent as players close the distance. Although the actual shape of the Eiffel Tower starts to fall apart a bit as players get up close, the inner workings of the build are fascinating as well. Without something like gravity to weigh on their creative spirit, huggedahl was able to make an insanely detailed rendition of this iconic building.
For the most part, players in the comments are stunned by this creation, congratulating huggedahl on a job well done. That said, there is some discourse surrounding the use of mods and the debug mode and whether or not that affects the legitimacy of a creation like this. In other sandbox survival games, players use creative mode and mods to do things that seem like they should be impossible, like making a fully playable rendition of Beat Saber in Minecraft, so why not Valheim?
Regardless of how one feels about mods, most can agree that the level of creativity needed to make this is impressive. Part of what makes Valheim and other sandbox games so great is that it has something for everyone. While some players are figuring out the most optimal way to build fires indoors without suffocating, there are also those that would prefer to spend their time in Valheim building and creating without any limitations.
Valheim is available now on PC.
