EA Survey May Tease What Battlefield 6 Has in Store | Game Rant

In terms of military style FPS games, Call of Duty remains the gold standard for many players. After the introduction of the free to play Warzone mode, Activision has been raking in record profits thanks to its in-game mictrotransaction store. However, for as well as the Call of Duty franchise has been doing, it hasn’t been immune to bad PR including a hacker situation on the PC which seemingly has no solution, as well as continuing issues with bugs and glitches.

It’s because of these issues that fans are hoping Electronic Arts and DICE are preparing the return of the Battlefield franchise after a few years behind the scenes. In the case of this long running franchises, rumors have continued to run rampart indicating that an announcement for Battlefield 6 isn’t too far off. Now, a recent survey sent out by Electronic Arts may give fans even more clues as to what the latest game in the long running franchise may have in store for players.

Initially reported on by Tom Henderson, the recent EA survey asked players about a number of topics pertaining to the Battlefield franchise including a Battle Pass, the Clan System, Free to play elements, maps that evolve throughout a match possibly through destruction, as well as weapon blueprints. While it should be stated that the survey isn’t intended to confirm any particular details, generally they’re used to give the company insight into what fans are thinking and what interests them most.

In a follow up Tweet, one person asked a question that was likely on many people’s minds regarding the survey. Even though it’s expected that Battlefield 6 is going to be revealed this year and has likely been in development for quite a while, the survey questions are less about seeing what to add to the game but more for when EA will announce them. The example Henderson uses is that if the Battle Pass option doesn’t score high on the survey, its announcement would likely be pushed in favor of something that scored higher with fans or perhaps cut out entirely.

Over the past couple of months, the as of yet to be announced Battlefield 6 has been involved in tons of rumors. While many believe the game is set to be announced very soon, others think this could server as a fresh start to the franchise by dropping the numbered title aspect, similar to how Call of Duty: Modern Warfare in 2019 was a reboot for the franchise as well. In addition, the survey details above do feature elements which were heavily rumored earlier in February, that the next Battlefield game would have a Battle Pass and free to play elements. With many games going this route, it shouldn’t be too surprising to see EA attempt to also tap into this lucrative area as well.

Battlefield 6 is in development.
