T-Mobile has a good lineup of phones at a variety of price points, ranging from the top of the line all the way down to affordable entry-level phones that you might not even need to finance monthly. Samsung dominates T-Mobile’s high-end Android selection, but it’s far from your only option.
Best overall
Samsung Galaxy S20+
Staff pick
The Galaxy S20+ pretty much does it all. It has all of the latest and greatest specs, 5G support, an industry-leading display, amazing rear cameras that let you get a closer or wider shot at the touch of a button, and up to 30x zoom. Best of all, it’s cheaper than the S20 Ultra and doesn’t come with the same autofocusing issues.
Productivity flagship
Samsung Galaxy Note 10+
The Galaxy Note 10+ is an incredible flagship, packing a huge 6.8-inch QHD display, a 4,300mAh battery, and of course, the S Pen. In addition to writing, drawing, and signing documents, the S Pen lets you control the Note 9 remotely, which means you can take group photos or control music playback without ever touching the phone. There’s also a built-in video editor, and you can run DeX off of your laptop.
All-day battery
LG V60 ThinQ
The LG V60 is a compelling alternative to Samsung’s offerings for hundreds of dollars less. You get the same Snapdragon 865 and 5G support, along with a three versatile cameras, 8K video recording, and a 5,000mAh battery that offers outrageously good battery life. You can even get the Dual Screen attachment to double your screen real estate (at the cost of some slight battery drain).
Value flagship
OnePlus 7T
We all want a fancy flagship phone, but pricing has skyrocketed over the years. That’s where the OnePlus 7T comes in — it’s packing high-end specs with a Snapdragon 855+ and a gorgeous 90Hz display, for less than half the price of the S20+. Combine that with the ultra-clean OxygenOS software and excellent build quality, and you’ve got a pretty killer value flagship.
Incredible camera
Google Pixel 3a
The Pixel 3a is an incredible value, serving as a more affordable version of Google’s flagship Pixel line. It has better battery life than the Pixel 4, the same great software, and even the same incredible camera that’s consistently ranked amongst the top smartphone cameras on the market. As an added bonus, it’s also one of the first phones to get every new version of Android.
Extra cheap
Moto G7 Power
The Moto G7 Power is all about value. With a massive 5,000mAh battery inside, it boasts up to three days of battery life in one charge, and offers modern appointments like USB-C, fast charging, and an 18:9 aspect ratio. You get fairly modern software as well, with Android 9 Pie, and you can always expand the 32GB of internal storage with a microSD card.
You have plenty of options
Whether you’re shopping for a four-figure flagship or looking for the best deal you can find on a simple Android phone, T-Mobile has plenty of great options to pick from. If you want the absolute best phone that does just about everything well, it’s hard to go wrong with the Galaxy S20+. You’ll get incredibly powerful cameras, one of the best displays money can buy, 5G data speeds, and blisteringly fast performance.
While not a necessary upgrade, you can go even further with the Galaxy Note 10+, which offers largely the same experience but packs in the S Pen as a bonus, which allows for precise touch input, remote operation, and more.
Luckily, there are plenty of great options that won’t cost you an arm and a leg, as well. In particular, it’s impossible not to recommend the Pixel 3a, which brings almost everything we love about the flagship Pixel lineup (sans some benefits like water resistance and wireless charging) into a more durable plastic body with the same amazing camera, and better battery life to boot. Performance won’t match that of the more expensive flagship offerings, but in nearly every other way, this is a terrific phone at a bargain of a price.
