The Galaxy Tab S7 is the best Android tablet you can buy right now

26 10 月, 2021 Andrew Martonik 0

The best Android tablet available right now is the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7. It has a big screen, high-end specs, tons of features, a stylus, and support for a full keyboard. But, of course, it’s pricey and not the right pick for someone who prefers a smaller, more portable tablet. Still, as an all-around device, it can’t be beaten. For those with different needs (or budgets), a few other picks work just well for media consumption and won’t break the bank.

What is the best Android tablet for you?

Picking a quality Android tablet typically boils down to either Samsung or Amazon models. Samsung dominates the premium and mid-range tablet market, while also competing with Amazon’s budget offerings with its cheaper A models. So when weighing the best Android tablet for you specifically, start with Samsung unless you don’t have much money to spend.

There’s much more to a tablet than just its display, but it’s hard to deny how important a role that particular spec plays. The Galaxy Tab S7 has…

Samsung got so much right with this thing, and it all starts with the display. The S21 Ultra packs a massive 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED panel that can hit a max resolution of 3200×1440. Unlike last year’s S20 Ultra, you can run the display in that Quad HD setting with…

There’s a lot more to a tablet than just its display, but it’s hard to deny an important role that particular spec plays. The Galaxy Tab S7 has one of the most impressive displays on any device we’ve used. It’s able to get extremely bright and even bears support for Samsung’s S Pen stylus. Of course, the Tab S7 also packs incredibly powerful specs elsewhere, and you can even buy a 5G-capable variant for a bit more money.

Feel like you’re living in the future with the best foldable phones

23 8 月, 2021 Andrew Martonik 0

We’re still in the early days of the foldable phone re-emergence, but there are a couple of options available if you want to buy in. These are no longer concepts or prototypes. They’re complete phones that are on store shelves just like any other. Right now, the best overall option is the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, but it’s far from your only option. These are the best foldable phones you can buy.

Best overall foldable phone: Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3

Another year means that we’ve been graced with another Galaxy Z Fold: the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3. While it may not look like too much of an upgrade at first glance, Samsung actually packed a lot of improvements into this one. Firstly, it sought to squash any concerns about the durability thanks to the phone’s new IPX8 water resistance and upgraded PET display.

With the addition of water resistance and improved display, this marks the most durable foldable smartphone that we’ve seen to-date. And because of this, Samsung was able to b…

Did you get an emergency alert on your Android phone? Here are the details

11 8 月, 2021 Andrew Martonik 0

Emergency alerts on your Android smartphone are a good thing — even if they are a bit annoying sometimes!

Every so often — or frequently, depending on your tolerance level — you get an emergency alert on your phone. That horrible blaring of the emergency tone, the buzzing the vibration motor, and then the grim news. Someone’s missing. Or there’s a severe weather alert headed your way. Suddenly and without warning, your phone’s scaring the hell out of you. It’s bad enough during the day, and downright dreadful in the dead of night.

And that’s the idea.

The U.S. carriers have worked with the federal government to come up with a way to push alerts to your Android smartphone to warn you about dangerous weather, missing persons or other matters of grave national importance. The point is they want you to see this information in hopes that it could save your life — or someone else’s.

Here’s what you need to know about these emergency alerts and how you can control them on your A…

Galaxy S20 Plus review

I’ve been through this so many times before. Samsung rolls out a new flagship phone. It’s undeniably better than its last flagship phone. And it’s once again more expensive than its predecessor. The Galaxy S20 Ultra takes that formula to an even higher level, with an absolutely massive screen and an all-new camera system that’s a step above Samsung’s other Galaxy S20 models. And the price? A big one: $1400.

But following up on a Galaxy S10 series that was pretty conservative, it’s good to see Samsung really going for it with a super-high-end “Ultra” model. This is supposed to be the one for the enthusiasts, the fans, the nerds who all want the …

Is it worth the extra cost to buy Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 3 with LTE?

28 5 月, 2021 Andrew Martonik 0

Best answer: Most people should buy the standard Bluetooth model of the Galaxy Watch 3. It’s less expensive upfront and doesn’t require an ongoing service with your carrier. Aside from streaming music and receiving calls independent of your phone, it does everything that the LTE model does — and has better battery life.

It’s about more than the up-front price difference

The Galaxy Watch 3 is not a cheap device, starting at $339 for the 41mm Bluetooth model, but is the Galaxy Watch 3 with LTE worth it? The LTE models get an obvious price mark-up — that’s whether you buy directly from Samsung or buy from a carrier like T-Mobile. While the cost to add LTE has come down some over previous Galaxy Watch models, you’ll still be looking at about a $50 upcharge.

On a percentage basis, paying that much extra is annoying for a watch that is otherwise the same. But really, that upfront cost is inconsequential; what you really need to keep in mind is the ongoing cost of that LTE connection…

These are the best foldable phones in 2021

13 5 月, 2021 Andrew Martonik 0

We’re still in the early days of the foldable phone re-emergence, but there are a couple of options available if you want to buy in. These are no longer concepts or prototypes. These are the best foldable phones you can buy.

Best foldable phone overall: Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2

The Galaxy Z Fold 2 is by far the most refined foldable currently on the market. It improves massively upon the hinge of the original Fold and can stay open at various angles to use certain software features in unique ways. The cover display takes up the entire face of the device, and while it’s a bit narrow compared to most phones, that helps keep it relatively useable one-handed since the phone is particularly thick when folded shut.

The inner display features Samsung’s Ultra Thin Glass (UTG) screen covering, making it more durable…
