Nintendo Direct Mini Predictions for 9/17/2020 | Game Rant

Nintendo has a tendency to give fans very little advanced notice for its Nintendo Direct presentations, and the latest one is no different. Earlier today, Nintendo confirmed that the next Nintendo Direct presentation will be another Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase, focused on third-party games coming to the Switch. The next Nintendo Direct Mini will take place on Thursday, September 17 at 7am PT, but it remains to be seen exactly which games will be showcased.

The previous Nintendo Direct Mini included some pretty big announcements, like the Shin Megami Tensei 3 remaster and the new look at the highly-anticipated Shin Megami Tensei 5. It stands to reason that the next Nintendo Direct Mini will have some pretty big announcements as well, and there are some possibilities that seem more likely than others.

Here are our predictions for the Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase that’s currently scheduled to take place on Thursday, September 17 at 7am PT.

Rumors have been swirling for months that Electronic Arts and BioWare plan on releasing Mass Effect Trilogy Remastered, a remastered collection of the first three Mass Effect games, for modern platforms. The rumors have mostly focused on the trilogy coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but a recent retail listing has leaked the existence of Mass Effect Trilogy Remastered for Switch as well. Considering this, and the leaked release window of October 2020, it wouldn’t be all that surprising to see Mass Effect Trilogy Remastered announced during the Nintendo Direct Mini.

AestheticGamer, aka Dusk Golem, is known for accurately leaking information about Capcom’s Resident Evil franchise. But recently, they have also been teasing that a Monster Hunter Switch announcement will be happening sooner rather than later. All that’s been said about this supposed Monster Hunter Switch game is that it is not a port of Monster Hunter World, and that it will be announced before Tokyo Game Show. Since Tokyo Game Show is set to kick off next week, it seems as though the Nintendo Direct Mini is the perfect opportunity to announce the game, whatever form it takes.

Last week, a Chinese retailer leaked the existence of a Ninja Gaiden Sigma trilogy collection. Presumably, this collection would bring together the Ninja Gaiden SigmaNinja Gaiden Sigma 2, and Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge in one package for the Switch. Nintendo has had a long relationship with the Ninja Gaiden franchise and publisher Tecmo Koei, with the original release of Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge being a timed-Wii U exclusive. Considering how closely tied the Ninja Gaiden franchise is with the Nintendo brand, it would make sense for such a collection to be announced at the next Nintendo Direct Mini.

While Nintendo has said that the next Nintendo Direct Mini will focus on third-party games, there’s still a chance that it could also be used to reveal the next Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC fighter. Past Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC fighters have been third-party characters, and there are rumors that Ryu Hayabusa from Ninja Gaiden could even be coming to the game. if the rumors about the Ninja Gaiden collection are true, then confirming Ryu for Smash seems even more likely.
