Animal Crossing New Horizons Player Creates Incredible Thanksgiving Village

Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ premier fall holiday is finally here and players are enjoying the festivities on their own islands. New Horizons’ Turkey Day event brings chef Franklin to the Town Plaza to cook up a festive feast for player’s island residents in one of Animal Crossing’s happiest holidays.

On top of celebrating the holiday itself, one of the most fun things to do in Animal Crossing: New Horizons is to prepare the island’s decorations ahead of the event. Now, one player posted their Thanksgiving preparations for Animal Crossing: New Horizons on social media, and it’s impressive, to say the least.

Following Animal Crossing’s spooky Halloween event is perhaps one of the most pleasant months in all of Animal Crossing. The changing seasons, coupled with Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ autumn-themed additions to each player’s island, such as the deep red leaves on fruit trees that flutter to the ground during the end of the month, make November a truly relaxing time to play. To cap the month off, players get to celebrate Turkey Day with Franklin by cooking up a grand feast for all the island’s residents. Now, one person who celebrated Turkey Day in style is blowing up on Twitter after posting screenshots of their preparations.

The player, going by the handle @heiheicrossing on Twitter, posted a series of tweets showcasing some incredibly festive Thanksgiving and fall-themed screenshots of their New Horizons village. The first of these screenshot sets shows a Thanksgiving diner room complete with villagers and players sitting around the table ready to eat. Going through the screenshots reveals just how many fall details this New Horizons player squeezed into the scene. HeiHei also showed off some custom autumn-themed clothing items complete with the respective codes that allow players to download the patterns for themselves.

HeiHei also showcased some of the fall scenery around their island, including a flea market filled with stalls selling various goods. Finally, it seems that HeiHei aims to prepare for the upcoming Toy Day holiday in New Horizons by sharing some holiday-themed clothing patterns alongside a showcase of a tranquil wintery room design. All in all, HeiHei shared upwards of 20 different screenshots showcasing all of the fall additions they added to their island and they’re all incredibly impressive.

One of the best aspects of the Animal Crossing community is the creativity that comes from players all around the world. That creativity combined with the other amazing qualities New Horizons going for it really cements why it’s undoubtedly one of 2020’s top Game of the Year candidates. As fall ends and winter approaches, the conversation around 2020’s Game of the Year will come to a head, coinciding with New Horizons’ wintery months. Regardless of whether Animal Crossing wins many Game of the Year awards, players will surely be playing New Horizons for years to come.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available now, exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
