Every New Bethesda Game Coming to Xbox Game Pass | Game Rant

Microsoft’s acquisition of Bethesda has been an intensely watched process since it was originally announced last year. With the acquisition solidified, Xbox and Bethesda are committed to keeping gamers informed about what to expect. Leaders from the two companies hosted a roundtable today to talk about several things, such as how there will be Xbox-exclusive Bethesda games and how all the different studios respect each other. During the roundtable, it was announced that 20 Bethesda games would be coming to Xbox Game Pass starting March 12, 2021.

Xbox Game Pass has been about bringing great games to players, a big factor in Microsoft’s interest in buying Bethesda. Now, entries from major franchises like Doom, The Elder Scrolls, and Fallout, among others, will be available on the game service. Several of the titles can even be streamed to mobile devices through the Cloud, which is available for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members. Xbox also revealed that several of these Bethesda games will get FPS boost on the Xbox Series X, although more information will come later about which ones specifically. Below are all the Bethesda games coming to Xbox Game Pass tomorrow.

From Arkane Studios, Dishonored Definitive Edition and Dishonored 2 will come to Xbox Game Pass. Players will be able to play through Dishonored and its additional content of the Dunwall City Trials, The Knife of Dunwall, The Brigmore Witches, and the Void Walker’s Arsenal. The two action-adventures games won numerous accolades, and players will be able to enjoy these games on PC, consoles, or through the Cloud on mobile devices. The Dishonored games can help keep players entertained while waiting for Arkane Studios to release its next game, Deathloop.

Since the original Doom was released in 1993, millions of players have enjoyed the hellish adventures of id Software’s franchise. Doom 1-3, Doom 64, and Doom Eternal will all be coming to the Xbox Game Pass. All these entries will be able to be played on PC, consoles, or on mobile devices through the Cloud. Doom will also contain the Episode IV: Thy Flesh Consumed chapter, which was originally released in the 1995 version of the game. DOOM 2 will contain the Master Levels expansion, which brings 20 additional levels to the game. Originally only released on the Nintendo 64 console, DOOM 64 received a re-release on modern platforms last year.

Doom 3 on Xbox Game Pass will include the Resurrection of Evil and The Lost Mission campaign expansions. Rounding out the additions from id Software’s demon slaying franchise is its most recent release, DOOM Eternal, which is already available on the game service. Doom Eternal will soon be revealing its second expansion, Ancient Gods Part 2, which will release sometime this year. In the meantime, players can fight tons of demons, stopping Hell’s invasions over and over again, when these DOOM games come to Xbox Game Pass.

Bethesda’s own flagship franchise The Elder Scrolls will get some entries added to Xbox Game Pass. Morrowind and Oblivion will be available on PC and consoles through the service. Plenty of modders for The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind still create new things in the game, so interest is still around for Bethesda’s 2002 adventure, and it will be a perfect opportunity for new players to try out the game.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Special Edition has already been available on Xbox Game Pass, but can be played on PC, consoles, and even mobile devices through the Cloud. 2021 will see the 10th anniversary of Skyrim releasing for the first time, though its extensive re-releases have become something of a joke among fans. While this is a great opportunity for people to explore the region of Skyrim again, perhaps the most interesting thing about this announcement is that mods for the game will be able to be used on consoles.

The final entry from this franchise making its way to the Xbox Game Pass will be The Elder Scrolls Online, which can be played on consoles or on mobile through the Cloud. Tamriel’s first MMORPG is still popular to this day, receiving continual updates and new content for players to enjoy. ESO‘s addition to Xbox Game Pass will launch just in time for players to get a free pet with the Heroes Reforged event, as the Gates of Oblivion storyline begins.

Leaked earlier this week, Xbox confirmed today that Fallout 4 is coming to Xbox Game Pass, along with Fallout 76 and Fallout: New Vegas. Bethesda’s 2015 standout will a huge addition, and will give tons of players the opportunity to explore the world of Fallout 4 for the first time.  At the roundtable, Todd Howard confirmed again that Bethesda understands Fallout 76 was a huge letdown for players at launch, but the company has been hard at work improving the game since. Fallout 76 on the Xbox Game Pass will include the recent Steel Dawn chapter. Interestingly, Fallout: New Vegas will only be available to play on consoles, while the other two games can be played on PC, consoles, and through the Cloud.

While MachineGames is currently working on a brand-new Indiana Jones video game, that didn’t stop it from bringing some Wolfenstein games to Xbox Game Pass. Wolfenstein: The New Order, Wolfenstein: The Old Blood, and Wolfenstein: Youngblood will all be available to play on PC, consoles, or on mobile through the Cloud. While the Wolfenstein series has been around for decades, Bethesda came in and refreshed the series with The New Order, its 2014 reboot. The new games are set in an alternate history where the Axis powers won World War II.

Bethesda is also bringing one of its best horror games, The Evil Within, to Xbox Game Pass. Directed by the creator of the Resident Evil series, and developed by Tango Gameworks, The Evil Within is a third-person survival horror game centered around a detective that is suddenly thrust into a disturbing world. Arkane Studios’ first-person sci-fi shooter Prey will be added to Xbox Game Pass as well. Prey follows Morgan Yu, a scientist that had been researching a hostile alien entity, as they try to escape the space station where they are trapped. The Evil Within and Prey can be played on PC, console, or on mobile through the Cloud.

Rounding out the list of 20 Bethesda games coming to the Xbox Game Pass tomorrow is none other than id Software’s RAGE 2. RAGE 2, an open-world shooter, takes place in a dystopian post-apocalyptic world. Since id Software has most likely been developing RAGE 3, so giving players the opportunity to try out the recent entry in the series could generate some interest. RAGE 2 can be played on PC, console, or on mobile through the Cloud.

Interestingly enough, there are some notable missing games that haven’t been mentioned yet. While The Evil Within is added, The Evil Within 2 will not be releasing on the service tomorrow. The same goes for Fallout 3 and the first RAGE. Plus, even though Wolfenstein: Youngblood is a sequel to Wolfenstein 2, the latter game won’t be added yet. It’s quite possible that Bethesda and Xbox are saving some games for a later release, and could be at work optimizing some of them for Xbox Game Pass.

Xbox Game Pass subscribers are about to love their decision to buy into the service, especially since hundreds of hours of gameplay is just around the corner for them through these 20 Bethesda games. It will be fun to see what comes of the Xbox and Bethesda partnership when more information gets revealed later this year.
