Call of Duty: Warzone has no shortage of Operators and outfits for players to choose from, though one of the most requested skins by far is for Soap MacTavish. Yet another bit of evidence has appeared that hints at Soap becoming available soon, with Call of Duty: Warzone players seeing the character in-game.
Rumors that the protagonist from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 would appear have been circulating ever since his cameo in a Call of Duty: Warzone easter egg from a few months back. In the scene, Soap walks Captain Price through the disarming of a bomb, heard over the radio and addressed by name by the Captain. While this obviously made hyped up fans, this excitement was only increased by several Soap-related leaks.
Soap’s operator bundle has leaked online, showing the character’s new design alongside several blueprints and weapon charms. Looking a fair bit younger while still rocking his iconic mohawk, fans have been waiting patiently for this Soap MacTavish bundle to make an appearance in the store. Unfortunately, this bundle has still not appeared, something that has led to fan expectations being lowered in recent weeks. However, a new clip may give the Call of Duty community a reason to be excited about a potential Soap debut once again.
The latest Soap MacTavish leak comes courtesy of @aizeiah_ on Twitter, with the gamer showing what seems to be a by-the-books death inside one of Verdank’s buildings. However, this death becomes something extraordinary if players take a close look at who was responsible for killing him. In the doorway, the Soap MacTavish Operator skin can clearly be seen, with the body type, outfit, and hairstyle being unmistakable. An utterly confusing moment considering that Soap has not been added properly, this could be a sign of a proper arrival.
Much like how Roze’s Rook skin was accidentally re-added to Call of Duty: Warzone despite being removed for changes, it is possible that Soap was briefly added to the store by mistake — with this player just being in the right place at the right time. On the other hand, @aizeiah_ remarks that the player seems to be using an aimbot to cheat, something that could indicate that the skin was obtained illegitimately. Regardless of how Soap was unlocked, though, it is interesting that some fans are running around as the Operator.
If Soap comes, it will likely be whenever the nuke hits Verdansk, as this explosion has been rumored to bring about a seventh Season of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare content for some time now. With the nukes supposedly dropping on April 22, players will thankfully not have to wait too much longer for answers on Soap’s potential release.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
