Halo Infinite Leak Reveals Spartan Griffin and Possible Release Month

While 343 Industries and Microsoft went relatively silent about Halo Infinite after its big delay was announced, reveals for the game have been ramping up. 343 has provided monthly updates on Halo Infinite, giving fans an idea of what to expect from the game, though many details still have yet to be revealed. Notably, Halo Infinite does not have an official release date and most of its story details are being kept underwraps, but it seems some of these details have been leaked.

Actor Verlon Roberts recently appeared on the Fadam and Friends podcast, where he discussed his involvement with Halo Infinite. During the podcast, Roberts talked about Halo Infinite‘s delay, stating that the game’s release date has been pushed back to November. This is a notable admission, as previously all that was known about Halo Infinite‘s new release date was that it was aiming for a release in the fall.

Roberts apparently knows this because he will be playing a role in the game. Roberts said that he has done voice acting and motion capture work for the character Spartan Griffin, confirming the character for Halo Infinite. Casual Halo fans may not recognize the game, but diehards will recognize Spartan Griffin from the Halo novel Shadows of Reach. What’s more is that Griffin has apparently recorded scenes with Master Chief’s actor, meaning the two Spartans will come face to face at some point during Halo Infinite‘s campaign.

This is a rather major leak for Halo Infinite, assuming Roberts’ information is accurate. A November release would make a lot of sense for Halo Infinite as it would put it out just in time for the holiday shopping season. Plus, most Halo games have released in November, including Halo: Combat Evolved. With Halo Infinite paying homage to Combat Evolved through its art style and box art, it wouldn’t be surprising to see it aim for a similar release date as that game as well.

If Halo Infinite is aiming for a November release date, it’s hard to say when exactly fans will find out. It’s entirely possible that one of the Inside Infinite updates from 343 will contain the information, but the more likely scenario is that the release date will be revealed at a special event of some kind.

A game like Halo Infinite is big enough to warrant its own presentation, but one has to imagine that Microsoft will be saving it for its presentation this summer. An Xbox game reveal event has been confirmed to be taking place during the summertime, possibly at E3 2021, so fans should find out much more about Halo Infinite in a matter of months.

Halo Infinite will launch fall 2021 for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
