Chivalry 2 is set to launch in just a few months, and fans soon have a closed beta to even look forward to. But leading up to its full June 8 release, developer Tripwire Interactive is building up excitement with an announcement. A new faction is headed to Chivalry 2: the Mason Order.
Chivalry 2 was delayed last year, but that allowed the developer more time to work on the first-person multiplayer action game. Perhaps this new Mason Order Faction would not have made the final cut if not for the additional time in development, for example. And now that the faction is in the game, fans are treated with a cinematic trailer.
The new Mason Order Faction trailer is quite dramatic. The imagery shows an absolutely bloody battlefield, a lion looking over soldiers of war, weapons being forged, and more. It is a far cry from a recent gameplay trailer that showed chickens on fire being thrown as weapons and soldiers being launched from catapults. In this trailer, Chivalry 2 looks dreary and devastating, but entirely intriguing.
Fans can look forward to the Mason Order Faction when Chivalry 2 launches in June. But if anyone is chomping at the bit for swordplay action, pre-purchasing the game guarantees access to the cross-play beta for Chivalry 2, which takes place towards the tail-end of April and lasts a weekend. Chivalry 2 has quite the opportunity to take the throne in the first-person multiplayer action genre, and it is interesting to see Tripwire Interactive becoming aggressive with trailers and marketing leading up towards the game’s launch.
Chivalry 2 will release on June 8 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
