Last Chance to Download Ratchet and Clank for Free | Game Rant

It’s never been more important for people to stay inside their homes and play video games than during this global pandemic, and Sony is doing its part to help with that. As part of PlayStation’s “Play At Home” initiative, everyone with a PlayStation is able to download a whole host of games for free to promote staying at home and self quarantining. One of those games is the popular Ratchet and Clank, made free just in time for players to get hyped about Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, which is launching in June this year. As exciting as that is, fans only have a few more hours to claim this free game. Ratchet and Clank will no longer be free starting at 8 PM PT (11 PM ET).

This isn’t the first time that PlayStation has given away free games in pursuit of this goal, and it won’t be the last either. The Play At Home initiative is expected to continue offering players free games and new experiences up until the end of June. Be sure not to miss Ratchet and Clank now.

It’s worth noting that this free game is the 2016 reboot of Ratchet and Clank, not the new Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart that is releasing for PS5 in June. With this, players should get a good sense of who the titular Ratchet and Clank are, although Rift Apart is not a direct sequel to this game. Regardless, players are sure to have fun with Insomniac Games’ take on the daring duo, and since it is free there’s no reason not to give it a try.

Any player can claim this game for free right now, not just PS Plus subscribers. What’s more, those players that already own Ratchet and Clank as part of their PS Plus subscription can get the game from this source in order to truly own it. With the PS Plus version of the game, players will lose access if their PS Plus subscription ends, but with the Play At Home version, they’ll always be able to come back and play it again. For this reason, it’s a good idea for everyone to grab it before it is too late.

The next batch of Play At Home games is already available, bringing players ten different games to enjoy. This includes the likes of Enter the Gungeon, Abzu, The Witness, Subnautica, and Rez Infinite. Aside from these, players can also claim several VR games for free at the moment, including Thumper, Moss, Astro Bot Rescue Mission, and Paper Beast.
