Surviving a run in Hades is no easy task. The game is fairly difficult. And as you learn more, the game throws more challenges to keep you on your toes. However, as the challenges grow, you also get better tools.
One of these is Aid boons from Olympians. In Hades, Olympians sometimes offer direct aid to Zagreus. In contrast to the other, mostly passive boons, Aid boons are active and require you to fill a gauge for you to use them. However, they are also very powerful and can turn the tide in a losing battle. Eight Olympians offer their Aid in Hades, and here are all their boons.
9 Aphrodite’s Aid
Aphrodite’s aid turns your Cast into a seeking projectile, that does a lot of damage. But more than that, it can also charm enemies for a period of time. Ranging from 5 to 6.5 seconds, this effect will cause enemies to attack other enemies. And while the duration of the charm is pretty short, the amount of damage it outputs makes it a very useful tool in miniboss and boss battles.
8 Artemis’ Aid
Artemis’ set of boons is based around critical hits, and her aid reflects that. Her Aid fires a seeking arrow, that inflicts a lot of damage. Furthermore, the arrow has a 35% critical chance. When used at a full god gauge, it fires a total of 10 arrows, unleashing devastating damage upon anyone in the vicinity.
7 Poseidon’s Aid
Poseidon is all about knocking your enemies away, and his Aid reflects that. Poseidon’s Aid turns you into a juggernaut for a short while. You will be invincible and speeding around, dealing massive damage to anyone in your way. This is especially useful against bosses. A lot of bosses in Hades control large parts of the room to keep you running, but a well-timed Aid will protect you from their attacks while dishing out some damage of your own.
6 Demeter’s Aid
Demeter’s Aid is perfect against large rooms of quick enemies. Her Boons inflict the Chill effect on your enemies, which slows them down, and dying of chill will spread the effect. While this is strong on its own, her boons also have some of the highest raw damage multipliers in the game.
Her Aid creates a Vortex that deals damage and inflicts Chill, and can quickly devastate large hordes of enemies while giving you time to pick of the stragglers.
5 Quick Favour
Hermes’ Boon kit is pretty unique. His boons are purely support based, augmenting your abilities, and any other Boons you might have. Quick Favour does just that, by making your God Gauge charge automatically. This makes it much easier to plan around using a particular Aid. You could even wait to fully charge the gauge for a Greater Call, an upgraded version for most aids, that lasts much longer and puts out much more damage.
4 Ares’ Aid
Much like his boons, Ares’ Aid is all about putting out loads of damage, quickly. His Call transforms you into a Blade Rift for a short while, making you impervious and putting out as much as 50 damage per hit. Now, this may not seem a lot, but blade rifts hit fast. A well-timed Greater Call can be instrumental in finishing off a tricky miniboss or boss while avoiding damage.
3 Dionysus’ Aid
Dionysus’ Hangover is one of the most powerful status effects in the game. It puts out a lot of damage over a period of time. It also stacks up to five times, so even for enemies with larger health pools, it can be quite devastating. His Aid takes advantage of this, by creating an area around you that inflicts Hangover for a while. Coupled with some creative dashing, you can easily get the maximum amount of stacks on any enemy. Then, just stand back and take pot shots while the booze does its work.
2 Athena’s Aid
Athena is all about making you a defensive powerhouse. Her boons give you the ability to deflect enemy attacks with various parts of your kit. This deflection works both on ranged and melee attacks and gives you a quick way to get out of tricky situations while still putting out damage. Her Call makes you invulnerable for a brief period while deflecting all damage. This is great for when you know a huge amount of damage is coming. The Greater Call multiplied the duration by 6, letting you deal damage with impunity.
1 Zeus’ Aid
No one does crowd control better than Zeus. His lightning abilities can deal massive damage to large groups of enemies while making stunning them for short periods of time. His Aid does just that. For a few seconds, lightning strikes everyone near you over and over. The Max Gauge version of this extends this to 9 seconds, basically pulverizing everyone around you with the might of Zeus’ lightning. His is one of the strongest, most useful Aid for any builds, in any situation.
